The University of Minnesota Duluth's football captain
Zach Ojile has made the Minnesota Vikings' 90 man offseason roster as announced Monday afternoon by the team. Ojile was one of two to be signed to the team from rookie camp on a tryout basis.
The fifth year tight end was invited to their rookie training camp after the NFL draft. After his stellar performance at rookie camp Ojile will now compete for a spot on the 52 man roster for the Vikings. Ojile will look to be the first Bulldogs since 2014 to make an NFL roster.
Minnesota native, Ojile, was a two-time captain for UMD Football where he received an honorable mention on the Don Hansen All-American Team after the 2022 season. Additionally, Ojile was named to the 2022 NSIC First-Team All-Conference and CCA All-Super Region Four Second Team. The tight end completed 25 receptions for a total of 289 receiving yards, with his longest at 60 yards and five touchdown receptions. Ojile also rushed for 53 yards, completed three rushing touchdowns, and notched two successful two-point conversions. Against MSU Moorhead Ojile posted 18 points off three touchdowns for UMD.
