CAILEE PETERSON ADVANCES TO FINALS OF 1500M NCAA DIVISION II OUTDOOR NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS

UMD WOMEN'S OUTDOOR TRACK AND FIELD CHAMPIONSHIPS WILL TAKE PLACE IN PUEBLO, CO ON MAY 25-27.


University of Minnesota Duluth women's track and field student-athlete Cailee Peterson advanced to the finals of the 1500m at the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Thursday in Pueblo, CO. Peterson finished with a time of 4:32.85 to win heat number two and will head to the finals in the seventh seed. The finals of the 1500M will take place on Saturday at 6:35 pm.

Peterson became the third Bulldog to compete in the 1500m at the NCAA Championships. The previous two participants both attained All-American status with Emi Trost (2017) winning the national championship.

The 2023 NCAA Division II Men's and Women's Outdoor Track and Field Championships will see a total of 754 participants, 377 men and 377 women. The complete list of qualifiers is available here. 

The 2023 championships will take place on May 25-27 in Pueblo, CO.
