THE SEASON SO FAR
The Bulldogs sit at fourth place in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) after a split loss/win weekend of their own against MSU Moorhead and Northern State. They currently sit with an overall record of 13-5 and a 8-4 conference record, momentarily securing them a bye through the first round of the NSIC tournament.
RANKINGS, RANKINGS, RANKINGS
After their loss last weekend, MSU Mankato falls to No.5 in the rankings while MSU Moorhead and Minot State remain at No.3 and No.16 respectively. The Bulldogs still hold onto the top spot in the conference for field goal percentage defense and three point percentage defense, while also being top three in eight other statistical categories, including: blocks per game, field goal percentage, and scoring margin.
WIECK'S MILLENNIALS
All five of the Bulldog's core starters (Austin Andrews, Drew Blair, Joshua Brown, Charlie Katona, and Jack Middleton) have achieved 1,000+ career points. The group currently has 7,110 combined points and look to grow that number throughout the season.
SCOUTING REPORT - CROOKSTON
The University of Minnesota Crookston Golden Eagles sit at fourteenth place in the NSIC with an overall record of 5-13 and a conference record of 2-10, following their pair of losses last weekend. The Bulldogs are 17-3 against the Golden Eagles since 2013, most recently defeating them on the road 109-69 at the end of last season.
SCOUTING REPORT - BEMIDJI STATE
The Bemidji State University Beavers sit at seventh in the NSIC with an overall record of 10-8 and a conference record of 6-6, following their pair of losses last weekend. The Bulldogs are 14-6 against the Beavers since 2013, most recently defeating them at home 87-53 at the end of last season.
LOOKING AHEAD
Men's basketball will take on No.5 MSU Mankato at Romano Gym next week before heading out on the road to tip off against Augustana and Wayne State. The action for the Bulldogs will get started on Tuesday, Jan. 30, at 7:30 PM.
