THE SEASON SO FAR
The Bulldogs sit at fourth place in the NSIC with an overall record of 15-5 and a conference record of 10-4, following their first weekend sweep since December 14-16. For now, they hold onto a first round bye for the conference tournament, sitting roughly one game ahead of fifth place Southwest Minn. State.
RANKINGS, RANKINGS, RANKINGS
In the most recent NABC national rankings, we saw a fair amount of movement for NSIC teams. Mankato dropped to the No.5 spot after suffering their first loss of the season, pushing Moorhead up into the No.3 spot. Minot State remains in the No.16 spot. The Bulldogs hold on to the number one three point defense in the conference and remain top three in nine other statistical categories, including: field goal percentage, blocks per game, and scoring offense.
WIECK'S MILLENNIALS
All five of the Bulldog's core starters (Austin Andrews, Drew Blair, Joshua Brown, Charlie Katona, and Jack Middleton) have achieved 1,000+ career points. The group currently has 7,248 combined points and look to grow that number throughout the season.
SCOUTING REPORT - MANKATO
MSU Mankato remains at the top spot in the conference with an overall record of 19-1 and a conference record of 13-1. The Mavericks suffered their first loss to Minot State two weekends ago, but were able to bounce back with a pair of wins over St. Cloud State and MSU Moorhead last weekend. The Bulldogs are 4-7 against Mankato since 2013-14, with their most recent matchup resulting in a 96-100 overtime loss earlier this season.
LOOKING AHEAD
Men's basketball will head back on the road this weekend to take on Augustana University and Wayne State College. The action for the Bulldogs will tip off on Friday, Feb. 2, at 7:30 PM.
