The No.24 University of Minnesota Duluth men's basketball team returns from the holiday break this Friday and Saturday to host the University of Mary Marauders and the Minot State University Beavers in this weekend's Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) matchups.

THE SEASON SO FAR

The Bulldogs currently remain at a 10-3 overall record and a 5-2 conference record, following their overtime loss to Mankato in their final game before the break. UMD now stands at third place in the conference behind No.2 Moorhead and No.3 Mankato.

RANKINGS, RANKINGS, RANKINGS

UMD fell to No.24 in the national rankings prior to the break following their loss to the Mavericks, but moved back into the No.23 position in the most recent NABC rankings. The Bulldogs remain at the top of the conference in field goal percentage defense and three point percentage defense, and remain in the top three in nine other categories, including: field goal percentage, scoring offense, and scoring margin.

All five of the Bulldog's core starters (Austin Andrews, Drew Blair, Joshua Brown, Charlie Katona, and Jack Middleton) have achieved 1,000+ career points. The group currently has 6,829 combined points and look to grow that number throughout the season.

The University of Mary Marauders are 6-6 overall with a 1-5 conference record following their win over Valley City State. The Bulldogs are 13-8 against the Marauders since 2013, most recently defeating them 83-68 in last season's White Out game.

Men's basketball will head down to St. Cloud, Minn. next to take on the St. Cloud State Huskies for their only game of the weekend. The action will tip off for the Bulldogs on Saturday, Jan. 13, at 1:00 PM.
