The University of Minnesota Duluth returned home to James S. Malosky Stadium for the first of their final two games of the 2024 season this afternoon, falling to the Winona State University Warriors 1-0 on Senior Day.

Final Score: UMD (0) - WSU (1) 

The Bulldogs came out into the matchup swinging, recording four of their six shots and both of their two shots on goal within the first eight minutes of the game. While starting the game with an aggressive offensive effort, UMD also held strong on the defensive side of the ball by holding the Warriors to eight total shots and keeping them scoreless in the opening 45 minutes.

WSU broke the scoring standstill in the 63rd minute, using a goal kick to set them up for the goal and to get on the board first. The Bulldogs were unable to respond throughout the final 27 minutes of the game, leading to their 1-0 loss.

The Bulldogs two shots on goal over six total shots throughout Sunday's matchup…Anna Tobias recorded one shot on goal for UMD over three total shots…Aisley Allen put one shot on goal on her only shot of the afternoon…Kaycee Chavez recorded nine saves on 16 shots faced in the net for UMD…the Bulldogs were credited with 16 fouls and one yellow card.

Bulldog soccer (2-11-3, 2-8-3 NSIC) will play their final game of the season at home against the Bemidji State University Beavers. Kickoff against the Beavers is currently scheduled for Thursday, Nov. 7, at 5:00 PM.
