It was a record-breaking day for the University of Minnesota Duluth men's and women's track and field team Saturday at the CSS opener hosted by the College of Saint Scholastica in Duluth, Minn.

The Bulldogs saw success across both the field and track, highlighted by a school record run by junior Cole Brisbois in the men's 60m prelims with a time of 6.92, breaking a five-year old record time set by Trent Hamerski. Eric Storhoff also had a share of the original record, with both Hamerski and Storhoff having run 6.95 times (Storhoff ran that time on March 1, 1996).

The Bulldog men also dominated in the one mile, with fifth-year Owen Dickenson taking first (4:22.68) and sophomore Noah Foster right behind in second in a time of 4:24.67 (PR).Â

The Women's one mile title was claimed by fifth-year Madeline Verkerke, who secured her win in a time of 5:05.90. Other first place finishes on the women's side include fifth-year Megan Gilles in the 60mH (9.20), sophomore Emily Bastian in the 400m with a personal best time of 59.49, freshmen Brookelyn Kuechle in the 600m (1:44.72), and sophomore Erin Steinman in the triple jump (11.57m).Â

In the pit, junior Will Heydt swept both the men's long and triple jump, with marks of 6.69m and 14.76m, the latter of which was a personal best. Other first place finishes for the Bulldog men came from freshmen Austin Kehr in the 600m (1:22.05), and sophomore Brady Johnson in the 200m (22.34).Â

The Bulldogs also ran, threw, jumped, and vaulted to many runner-up placings. For the women, these came from sophomore Julia Rademacher in the 5k (19:41.12), freshmen Hailey Hollar in the 60m (7.84), sophomore Sierra Ingle in the 800m in a time of 2:29.28, freshmen Allysah Larson in the Long Jump (5.37m), freshmen Judsona Chea in the Triple Jump (11.31m), and sophomore Lauren DuBois in the High Jump (1.55m). The women's 4x400 team of Bastian, Burgess, Kuechle, and Wodele also claimed second in a time of 4:10.08.

On the men's side, a second place performances came from freshmen Noah Rodenwald in the pole vault (4.45m), Junior Jackson Weston in the shot put with a throw of 15.92m, and junior Brock Unger in the 200m (22.65).Â
