University of Minnesota Duluth men's hockey junior forward Dominic James has been named the 2024-25 team captain after serving as an alternate captain in 2023-24.
Â
A native of Plymouth, Mich, James missed all but the first two games this year after suffering a season-ending injury. As a sophomore, James compiled 28 points in 35 games – the second most on the team. Tied for the most assists with 18, James added 10 goals, which included three power play tallies.Â
Â
James began his collegiate career with 18 points (6g, 12a) as a freshman in 2021-22 and was drafted by the National Hockey League's Chicago Blackhawks in the sixth round following the season. He also represented the United States in the 2022 World Junior Championships in Edmonton, Canada.
James and the Bulldogs will drop the puck on the 2024-25 season on Saturday Oct. 5 at AMSOIL Arena.
