UMD Men’s Basketball Officially Announces Schedule for 2024-25 Season

A NCAA division one exhibition matchup and back to back home tournaments to open up the regular season highlight a star-studded 2024-25 schedule for the University of Minnesota Duluth men's basketball team, set to begin in late October.

The Bulldogs will start off the year with a road trip to Iowa City for an exhibition matchup with the University of Iowa Hawkeyes. This will be the Bulldogs fourth exhibition game against a DI program under the direction of head coach Justin Wieck, and will serve as a reunion for the head coach as a former Hawkeye athlete.

UMD are back as the hosts of the American Family Insurance Classic, last hosting the tournament back in 2022. The two day showdown will pit six different teams against each other, allowing the Bulldogs an opportunity to test their mettle against some other conferences. The Bulldogs are also set to play host to the St. Louis County Classic, where we will see UMD face off against some familiar non-conference teams throughout another two day event.

UMD are set to begin their Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) schedule in early December against Southwest Minnesota State University (12/6). A pair of early matchups against Augustana University (12/13) and Winona State (12/18) will offer a rematch of last year's NSIC tournament quarterfinals and semifinals, and a late February date will pit the Bulldogs against the reigning NCAA DII national champions, Minnesota State University Mankato (2/11).

Men's Basketball closed out the 2023-24 season in the NCAA DII Central Region semifinals against Northwest Missouri State University, after a buzzer beater win over Fort Hays State in the quarterfinal round. The Bulldogs ended the year with a 26-7 overall record and 18-4 conference record in the NSIC.
