The University of Minnesota Duluth men's basketball team extended their winning streak to four games tonight, holding the Bemidji State University Beavers to a 5-for-26 shooting performance and collecting the 75-59 victory at Romano Gymnasium.

After jumping out to a 12-7 advantage, UMD went on a 7-0 run with 11:41 left in the first half, culminating in a bucket from Katona, to increase its lead to 19-7. The Bulldogs maintained that lead and entered the halftime break with a 36-24 advantage. UMD relied on its three-point shooting in the period, knocking down eight shots to account for 24 of its 36 points.
The Bulldogs kept their lead intact before collecting five unanswered points to grow the lead to 50-37 with 12:25 to go in the contest. UMD continued to expand the margin and coasted the rest of the way for the 75-59 win. The Bulldogs took care of business in the paint, recording 20 of their 39 points in the lane.
Bulldog Notes vs. BSU
The Bulldogs had three players score in double figures, led by Charlie Katona, who had 16 points. Jayden Johnson added 16 points and Kole Hanson chipped in as well with 12 points, four assists and three steals.
The UMD offense was strong from deep, making 10 threes on 22 attempts while never trailing throughout the game. Johnson hit five shots from beyond the arc for the Bulldogs in the contest.
The Bulldog defense held Bemidji State to only 19.2% shooting from beyond the arc and forced 14 BSU turnovers throughout the night.

Bulldog men's basketball (11-5, 6-4 NSIC) closes out their three game homestand tomorrow afternoon with a tilt against the University of Minnesota Crookston Golden Eagles. Tip-off against the Golden Eagles is currently set for 3:30 PM.
