Four Bulldogs Named to 2025 CSC Academic All-District Team

University of Minnesota Duluth volleyball student-athletes Paige Decker, Madeline Guetzkow, Ava Jones and Madison Reed were named to the 2025 CSC Academic All-District® Volleyball Team for NCAA Division II, the organization announced. 

The 2025-26 Academic All-District® Women's Volleyball Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.

Decker earned her first CSC Academic All-District® accolade for maintaining a 3.83 GPA as a Biology major and will now be up for Academic All-America® honors. The middle blocker is a two-time Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) Academic Team of Excellence honoree and a two-time NSIC All-Academic Team member and has been named to the Swenson College of Science and Engineering Dean's List four semesters. She was named to the 2025 All-NSIC Second Team after leading the Bulldogs in blocks per set (0.83), total blocks (66) and block assists (62) despite missing six matches due to injury. Her .355 hitting percentage ranked sixth in the NSIC, while her 0.83 blocks per set ranked in a tie for 12th in the league. She hit .500 or better in seven matches and .400 or better in nine matches. 

Jones earned a spot on the CSC Academic All-District® Team for the first time for maintaining a 3.88 GPA as a Pre Communication Sciences and Disorders major and will now be up for Academic All-America® honors. The setter from Detroit Lakes, Minn., is a member of the 2025 NSIC Academic Team of Excellence and the 2025 NSIC All-Academic Team and has been named to the UMD College of Education and Human Services Professions Dean's List two semesters. Jones earned All-NSIC Second Team accolades following a breakout sophomore campaign. She ranked ninth in NCAA Division II in assists per set (11.19) and 23rd in total assists (1,164) and helped UMD rank No. 20 nationally in team hitting percentage (.251). She was named the NSIC Setter of the Week following the first week of play when she led the NCAA (all divisions) with a 12.86 assists per set average. She totaled seven double-doubles on the season, which included a 64-assist, 14-dig outing at No. 14 Wayne State (NE) Sept. 26. The 64 assists were the second-highest single-match total in NSIC matches in 2025 and tied for the 10th-highest single-match total in NCAA Division II this season.

Guetzkow earned CSC Academic All-District® Team accolades for the first time for maintaining a 3.50 GPA as an Exercise and Rehabilitation Sciences major and will now be up for Academic All-America® honors. The junior right side hitter was named to the All-NSIC Second Team in 2025 after leading the Bulldogs and ranking 10th in the NSIC in points per set (3.77) and 13th in kills per set (3.09). Guetzkow had six double-doubles on the season, had 10 or more kills in 14 matches and 20 or more kills in three matches. She also hit .300 or better in 10 matches during the season. 

Reed earned her first CSC Academic All-District® nod for maintaining a 3.65 GPA as a marketing major at UMD. The Balsam Lake, Wis., native is a two-time NSIC Academic Team of Excellence honoree and a two-time NSIC All-Academic Team member and has been named to the Labovitz School of Business and Economics Dean's List four semesters. In 2025, Reed played all 28 matches for the Bulldogs at libero, leading the team and ranking sixth in the league in in digs per set (4.47) and total digs (465), while also ranking first on the squad and in the top-ten in the NSIC in service aces per set (0.36). She had 10 or more digs in 24 of UMD's 28 matches and tallied 20 or more digs eight times. Her career-high 33 digs vs. Wayne State (NE) on Sept. 26 was the third-highest single-match total for a NSIC match this season. 

First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced Jan. 13, 2026.

The Division II and III CSC Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2025-26 Divisions II and III Academic All-America® programs. The NAIA CSC Academic All-America® program is partially financially supported through the NAIA governance structure.
