The University of Minnesota Duluth men's and women's track and field teams are slated for a busy weekend. The Bulldogs squads will split up to compete at the Pacific Coast Invite at Long Beach State University (Long Beach, Calif.), the Bryan Clay Invite at Azusa Pacific University (Azusa, Calif.), and the Maverick Invite at Mankato State University in Mankato, Minn.
On Thursday, April 17 UMD athletes will compete at both the Pacific Coast and Bryan Clay Invites. On Friday, April 18 the Bulldogs will once again race, throw, jump, and vault at the Bryan Clay Invite, as well as the Maverick Invite.
"The Bulldog distance and mid-distance crews have many competitive meets to look forward to this weekend," said Coach Brette Jensen. "Right off the bat, conference champion Jack Van Kempen gets the weekend started out in Azusa, Calif. for the 5k at the Bryan Clay Invite. We're excited to see what Jack can do after coming off a historic performance last weekend in the steeplechase."
"Keeping the momentum going, we have a great competitive opportunity for our crew in Mankato this weekend to continue their outdoor pursuits and cement their conference standings. Finishing out the weekend is the remainder of our crew in California at the Bryan Clay Invite with the 800m and 1500m races. This team has been working hard the last few weeks through tough training blocks, so I'm excited for them all to continue to progress this weekend!"
