University of Minnesota Duluth men's triple jumper
William Heydt was named the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Men's Field Athlete of the Week Monday after his impressive performance at the Wartburg Outdoor Select Saturday in Waverly, Iowa.
The native of Alexandria, Minn. won the triple jump with an NCAA provision length of 48'Â 4.5" (14.74). That jump also ranked in the top-20 of all NCAA Division II jumps so far this season , and is a personal best for the junior jumper.
Heydt is coming off an indoor season where the junior took fifth in the NSIC Championships with a PR indoor jump of 14.76m.
The Bulldogs return to the track and field this Saturday when they compete in the Bethel Invitational.
