Perfect Weekend Gloves Gascon WCHA Goaltender of the Week Honor

After posting back-to-back shutouts on the road last weekend, University of Minnesota Duluth women's hockey junior goaltender Ève Gascon earned Western Collegiate Hockey Association accolades, her fourth time nabbing the award this season.

The native of Mascouche, Quebec posted a shutout series for a second time this year, and this time against No. 13 Minnesota State University, Mankato on the road. Not only was Gascon perfect in the series, she was perfect in overtime Friday night and the league shootout. Tied for the most minutes played by any league goaltenders over the weekend, Gascon led the league in shutouts, goals against average and saves percentage, and averaged 22.50 saves per game.

After moving into a tie for the No. 4 all-time career slot on Friday night, Gascon moved up and into a tie for the No. 3 spot at UMD with her 17th career shutout Saturday. This season, Gascon is currently tied for third in the NCAA with six shutouts and tied for the WCHA lead.

Gascon and the Bulldogs will head to Columbus, Ohio this weekend to face No. Ohio State University. The Friday-Saturday series gets underway at 5:00 p.m. CST.
