The University of Minnesota Duluth men's and women's indoor track and field conquered two different meets this past weekend, turning in multiple school records from the Friday-Saturday SDSU Indoor Classic in Brookings, S.D. and a number of meet records over the bridge in Superior, Wis. at the MaDay Classic.
Â
The Bulldogs kicked off a busy weekend in Brookings Friday that was punctuated by senior Brock Unger's school record in men's 200m with a time of 22.05. UMD piled on more records Saturday, including another school record Unger was a part of in the 4 x 400m. Unger, Austin Kehr, Brady Johnson, and Billy Auvin ran to a 3.17.94 for the new record, which doubles as the 50th quickest relay time in NCAA Division II.
Â
Auvin, a sophomore, also ran a Bulldog school record 400m with a time of 48.49 – the 68th fastest time in DII this season. Sophomore Avary Fitzpatrick finished second in the 400m with a school record performance of 57.03, also the 80th fastest time in DII to this season.
Â
Finn Youberg wrapped up the pile of school records with one of his own Saturday, a 2:29.71 time in the 1,000m, also a personal best for the senior.
Â
Other notable performances in Brookings that landed UMD athletes in the top-100 NCAA DII times this season were Lillian Wanzek's 8.83 time in 60m hurdlers (56th DII), Unger 48.49 time in the 400m (69th DII), Madeline Verkerke's 4:55.87 run in the mile (49th DII), and graduate Shaelyn Hostager 5,000m time of 17:05.99 (32nd DII).
Â
Meanwhile, Saturday in Superior four new meet records were set by Bulldogs. Freshman Emma Reincke's first place finish in the 200m with a time of 26.13 set a meet record, while a second place run by Tayler McMeekin in the mile of 5:22.99 was also both a meet record and PR for the freshman. Sophomore Noah Rodenwald set both a meet record and landed on the DII top-100 list with his PR jump of 4.66m. Daniel Wynter won the men's triple jump with a jump of 13.37, a meet record for the freshman jumper.
Â
Junior Noah Mitchell also threw to the 40th longest distance so far this season in DII in the shot put with a 16.51.Â
Â
In all, 13 athletes had personal record performances in Superior Saturday, while 16 hit their career marks in Brookings.

UMD will wrap up the regular season this Friday when it competes in the Snowshoe Open in the University of Minnesota Fieldhouse in Minneapolis, Minn. Friday.
