After leading the Western Collegiate Hockey Association in every goaltending category over the weekend, University of Minnesota Duluth women's hockey goaltender Ève Gascon earned her sixth WCHA Goaltender of the Week honor and her second in as many weeks on Monday.
The junior goaltender posted the best saves percentage (.956), goals against average (1.44), recorded the most saves (65), and played the most minutes of all goaltender in the league, helping UMD sweep and upset the No. 3 University of Minnesota on the road last Friday and Saturday. The Mascouche, Quebec native backstopped the Bulldogs to two overtime wins against the Gophers, the first UMD sweep over Minnesota since 2017.
With six weekly honors this season, Gascon has dominated the WCHA award, and her hot play over the past month has been rewarded with the weekly honor in three of the last four weeks.
Gascon and the Bulldogs will put their six-game winning streak on the line this weekend when they host Minnesota State University in a best-of-three series that will get underway Friday at 2:00 p.m.
