University of Minnesota Duluth men's hockey freshman forward Hunter Anderson was named the National Collegiate Hockey Conference Rookie of the Week Tuesday morning after his four point performance against Miami University (OH) over the weekend.

The Manhattan Beach, Calif. native led all scorers with four points on two goals and two assists his first collegiate series with back-to-back multiple point games. Anderson scored a power play goal in each game, including the game-winner Saturday night and added four shots on goal.

Anderson lands the first Rookie of the Week honor for UMD this season and the ninth weekly player honor for the Bulldogs this year.

UMD will host Colorado College this weekend at AMSOIL Arena in its last regular season action. The Friday-Saturday series will get underway at 7:07 p.m. on Friday.
