The University of Minnesota Duluth men's basketball team has officially entered the NCAA DII Tournament as the No. 8 seed in the Central Region and will head to Topeka, Kansas, to face No. 1 Washburn University in the first round.
The Bulldogs earned their way in after winning the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Tournament for the third time in program history, downing conference favorite St. Cloud State University. This entry marks the program's seventh entry and fourth under head coach
Justin Wieck.
UMD faces Washburn University, which just won the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association (MIAA) Tournament and regular-season title with a 31-1 overall record.
The first round is set for this Saturday, March 14th in Topeka, Kansas, with the time still to be determined.
