It was a Sunday split for the University of Minnesota Duluth baseball team against the University of Mary in Bismarck, ND at Municipal Ballpark by scores of 4-2 and 14-4.

Game One, 4-2 UMD Win
The Bulldogs scored all four of their runs in the third inning, highlighted by a home run, while limiting the Marauders to two runs in the seventh. This game marked the third consecutive time the Bulldogs had least 10 hits.

That strong third inning included a Michael Gabbard singled to shortstop, followed by a single from Sam Kliber to center field, advancing Gabbard to second. Hayden Anthony then singled through the left side, loading the bases. Gabe Richardson delivered a decisive blow with a home run to left field, driving in four runs, including Anthony, Kliber, and Gabbard. Richardson's performance was notable as he recorded a season-high of four runs batted in. This offensive surge gave UMD a 4–0 lead through three innings.

In the seventh inning, Mary responded with a two-run homer by Leafgren, scoring Pegors and reducing the deficit to 4–2, but the Marauders would get no closer.

Henry Wilkinson pitched six innings for UMD, allowing six hits and two earned runs while recording four strikeouts and no walks. He threw a total of 78 pitches, with 55 of them being strikes, contributing to a solid start. Joe Gizzi secured his third save of the season with a perfect inning of relief, retiring all three batters he faced on just three pitches.

Richardson delivered a strong performance by hitting a home run and driving in four runs. Logan Myers contributed to the offense with two hits and one walk. Troy Lynch also maintained his consistent form, recording two or more hits in two consecutive games.

Game Two, 14-4 UMD Loss
Despite the loss, UMD managed a home run, contributing to its four-run effort. Notably, this game marked the eighth consecutive outing in which UMD achieved at least nine hits.

Mary took an early lead with a commanding first inning, scoring five runs. A three-run homer by Linn and a two-RBI single by Ramirez contributed to the 5-0 advantage for the host team after one inning.

UMD responded in the second inning. Logan Myers, who pinch ran earlier, scored on a single by Michael Gabbard, followed by Sam Kliber's RBI single, cutting the deficit to 6-2. Mary added a run in the bottom half, extending its lead to 6-2 through two innings.

The Marauders added another run in the fourth inning with Pegors' solo homer, moving the score to 7-2. The fifth inning saw Mary extend its lead, scoring three runs on three hits, including a two-RBI single by Pegors, making it 10-2.

In the sixth inning, Henry Bushey doubled and scored on Thomas Hanson's single, bringing the Bulldogs closer at 10-3. Mary remained scoreless in their half, keeping the score at 10-3 through six innings.

The Marauders further extended their lead in the seventh with Griffin's solo homer and a sacrifice fly, making it 12-3. UMD answered with a solo homer by Myers in the eighth inning, but Mary added two more runs, leading to a score of 14-4.

UMD's pitching staff faced challenges as Zak Brown started the game and allowed five earned runs on two hits in just 2/3 inning, including a home run and two hit batters. Darren Loyola provided some relief, pitching one 1/3 innings with one strikeout, but allowed one earned run on three hits. Cal Smith had a solid outing, managing one scoreless inning while allowing only one hit. Jacob Haughton also delivered a scoreless inning, offering a brief respite by not allowing any hits or walks.
