The University of Minnesota Duluth men's and women's track and field teams split up to compete at two different meets in two different states Thursday through Saturday. The Bulldogs completed in the Brian Clay Invitational in Azusa, Calf. inside Cougar Athletic Stadium from Thursday to Saturday, and in the Phil Esten Challenge in La Crosse, Wis, at the Roger Harring Stadium Thursday and Friday.

The UMD highlight of the Brian Clay Invitational was senior shot putter Jackson Weston's third place effort with a throw of 17.08 meters. Weston's toss is his longest so far of the outdoor season.

Sophomore Noah Rodenwald finished sixth with a 4.80 meter vault, while Lillian Wanzek, a sophomore, placed 18th in the women's long jump – the only Bulldog woman to finish inside the top-20 at the meet.

In La Crosse, junior Noah Bakken finished second in the men's 5,000 meter race with a time of 15:52.23.

On the women's side, junior Graycee Roubinek got on the top-three podium with a third place effort in the javelin throw of 37.64.

The track teams return to action this week at both the Minnesota Invite on Wednesday in Minneapolis, Minn. and the Drake Relays Thursday, Friday and Saturday in Des Moines, Iowa.
