University of Minnesota Duluth sophomore forward Rae Mayer was named to the 2026 U.S. Collegiate Women's Select Team Monday, and will suit up for the three-game series with Canada in Richmond, B.C. at the RIchmond Olympic Oval August 13-15.


Mayer, who will skate against current Bulldog teammates senior goaltender Eve Gascon and junior center Caitlin Kraemer who made the Canadian Development Team, lands on her first U.S. roster since skating as an Under-18.


A native of Chesapeake, Virginia, Mayer was UMD's third-highest scorer as a freshman last season, putting up 21 points on 12 goals and nine assists. Mayer led the team with three power play goals and had a season-best six game scoring streak from Oct. 24 through Nov. 21 where she ran up three goals and three assists -- four points which came against top-10 teams. This will mark Mayer's second time at the Festival after being named to the Under 18 side in 2024.


The team is comprised of 14 forwards, eight defenders and three goaltenders. Thirteen different college programs are represented on Team USA.
