Hockey Canada has announced the rosters for Canada's National Women's Under-18 Team and Canada's National Women's Development Team, and three University of Minnesota Duluth women's hockey players landed on the two teams. Senior goaltender Eve Gascon and junior center Caitlin Kraemer Canada's National Women's Development Team, while incoming freshman defenseman Renee Lapoint has been named to the Canadian National Women's Under-18 Team.

Gascon and Kraemer -- who made their Canadian National Team debuts last November in the U.S. Rivalry Series, were two of twenty-two players— two goaltenders, seven defenseman and 13 forwards—named to Canada's National Women's Development Team for its series against the United States, a three-game series against the United States, Aug. 12-15 at the Richmond Olympic Oval.

Five players, which included former Bulldog defenseman and current PWHL Vancouver Goldeneye blueliner Ashley Messier, have graduated from college and were ineligible for selection to the National Women's Development Team for the series against the U.S.

Lapointe -- who just turned 17 in July -- will make her Canada National Women's Under-18 Team Debut this week. One of 22 players on the squad and one of eight defenseman, Lapointe, from Barrie, Ontario, is the daughter of Nathalie Rivard - a three-time IIHF Women's World Championship gold medalist in the 1990s with Canada -- and a teammate of UMD head coach Laura Schuler.
