MID-WINTER INSTRUCTION OPPORTUNITY WITH BULLDOG BASEBALL PRESEASON CAMP

The University of Minnesota Duluth baseball team will be conducting its annual preseason baseball camp over two Sundays in February for Northland ballplayers in grades 4-12.

This camp is designed to provide participants a chance to practice and expand on their hitting, fielding, pitching, catching and overall diamond skills in a large indoor facility. Instruction will be provided by head coach Bob Rients, along with other UMD baseball coaching staff members as well as current Bulldog players.

Session one will be geared towards high school-aged (grades 9-12) players and will take place on February 10 and 17, both instances from 8:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. The cost is $50.

Players in grades 4-8 will fit perfectly into Session two, also occurring on February 10 and 17, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The cost is $40.

All campers should furnish their own gloves and wear proper baseball attire. Indoor athletic shoes are the only footwear needed and personal catching gear, batting gloves and bats are encouraged.

The original registration deadline of January 29, 2008 has been extended to February 5.

Direct any questions about the camp to Bob Rients via email (rrients@d.umn.edu) or by phone (218-726-7967).
