Four current representatives of the No. 2 University of Minnesota Duluth women's hockey team struck gold Sunday in the European Air Canada Cup as Canada’s National Women’s Under-22 Team downed Finland 7-5 in Ravensburg, Germany.

Haley Irwin all tallied at least two points through four games over the five game tournament. Irwin led all UMD players with five points (4-1=5) in four outings, including a goal against Finland (and Bulldog teammate Heidi Pelttari, who scored five points of her own in four games), in the final.

Saara Tuominen (Finland), who in just two games tallied one goal and three assists for four points. Former Bulldog great
Maria Rooth was the fourth leading-scorer in the tournament, registering one goal and five assists for Team Sweden.
UMD will regain its national team players just in time as they head to Mankato, Minn. this weekend to take on Minnesota State University. The puck drops on Friday and Saturday's games at 7:07 p.m.
