MacGregor Sharp has definitely saved his best hockey for last this winter and and that has earned the University of Minnesota Duluth senior center a spot on the 2008-09 All-College Hockey News second team, which was announced today.
Sharp, a native of Red Deer, Alberta, currently tops the 2008-09 WCHA playoff champion Bulldogs in goals with a career-high 25 and is tied for the team scoring lead with 47 points. During UMD's perfect 5-0-0 postseason run, he has racked up six goals (including a hat trick in last Saturday's WCHA Final Five title victory over the University of Denver) and three assists. A member of the 2008-09 Final Five All-Tournament Team, Sharp also ranks first among Bulldogs in game-winning goals (a WCHA-leading six) and shots on goal (151).
Sharp, who has skated in all but one of 156 outings over the past four seasons, and the Bulldogs will face Princeton University Friday night in the semifinal round of the NCAA West Regionals in Minneapolis, Minn.
