With the score knotted at one, senior forward Dani Potter's free kick goal just six minutes into the second half lifted the University of Minnesota Duluth to a 2-1 road victory over MInot State University on Saturday afternoon.

The Bulldogs (8-2-0, 7-1-0 NSIC) continued on their three-match winning streak in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference play, defeating the Beavers (2-6-2, 2-5-1 NSIC) in Minot.

Junior defender Riley Allen netted her first of the year, a header off a corner kick by junior midfielder Hannah Keil in the 22nd minute to put UMD up 1-0, but MSU answered just three minutes later on a breakaway goal by Zoe Fisher. With the Bulldogs outshooting the Beavers 9-7, the two teams took the 1-1 tie to the locker room at half.

Potter's deciding goal came early in the period, but UMD continued to pressure throughout the second half, out-shooting Minot 10-1 in the second half. Outshooting 19-8 overall, UMD also had an 8-6 edge in shots on net, and didn't allow a single SOG in the second period. Sophomore goalkeeper Marissa Rosa made five saves to preserve the win for her Bulldogs.

UMD will stop off in Bismarck, N.D. for a match-up against the University of Mary tomorrow afternoon before heading back to the Duluth. The road trip continues with a 1:00 p.m. kick-off against the Marauders.
