The University of Minnesota Duluth offense dominated early, but three second-half goals propelled No. 18 Southwest Minnesota State University to a 3-0 win over the Bulldogs on Sunday afternoon.

UMD (5-2-0, 4-1-0 NSIC) maintained the offensive against the Mustangs (8-0-0, 5-0-0 NSIC) in the first half, out-shooting SMSU 6-0 in the frame but the team could only account for one shot on net.

Southwest came out hard after the break with five shots in the first 20 minutes, including a pair of scores just under three minutes apart by Alex Pantze and Danica Caudillo. SMSU's Miranda Caden would add a third score in the 75th minute.

Junior forward Maureen Stormont led the way with five shots for the Bulldogs. Six players had at least one shot in the match for UMD. Sophomore goalkeeper Marissa Rosa made three saves, all in the second half. The Bulldogs finished with 13 shots in the match, including five on goal. The Mustangs had nine shots including seven on net, pelting UMD's defense in the latter frame.

The Bulldogs return to their home field where they remain undefeated in 2013 next weekend for Homecoming. UMD opens the weekend with a Friday evening showdown with Wayne State (Neb.) College, set to kick-off at 6:00 p.m.
