The University of Minnesota Duluth fell in its final exhibition test against an NCAA Division I opponent this season, 78-52, to the Green Bay Phoenix of the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay on Tuesday evening.
Green Bay (4-1) capitalized on 10 first-half UMD turnovers to take a 45-29 lead into the break, and held on the rest of the way, collecting 20 total points off turnovers compared to just a pair for the Bulldogs.

Brett Ervin scored 13 points to lead the Bulldogs, while senior guard 
Reece Zoelle went 5-of-10 from the field for 10 points to go with a team-high five rebounds.
• Senior guard Keifer Sykes led the way for Green Bay with 18 points to lead three members of the Phoenix reaching double-digits. The 6-foot-7-inch junior Jordan Fouse had 10 points and a game-high seven rebounds for UWGB.
UMD shot 40.0 percent on the night, but just 4-of-18 from beyond the arc as the Bulldogs continued to try and regain their scoring edge.The road team outrebounded Green Bay 36-35, but 16 Bulldog turnovers compared to seven for the Phoenix proved the difference. Green Bay also made good on more shots, shooting 51.7 percent (30-of-58) including 6-of-11 from three-point range.
UP NEXTUMD (3-4, 0-1 NSIC) returns to conference play this weekend on the road against the University of Minnesota-Crookston and Bemidji State University. The Bulldogs and Golden Eagles will tip off the action Friday night at 8:00 p.m. following the women's contest.
