The University of Minnesota Duluth continued on its diet of Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference competition Sunday in Bemidji, Minn., and dropped a pair of matches to Upper Iowa University (6-3) and Bemidji State University (5-4).
Sophomore
Delaney Dobbs won both of her No. 5 singles events (to improve to 4-1 on the year) as did freshman
Briana Rademacher at No. 6 singles -- both in straight sets. In addition, rookie
Kaitlin Wohnoutka prevailed at No. 4 singles against Upper Iowa in three sets.
Rademacher and the Bulldogs' lone senior,
Kelsey Cunningham, posted back-to-back victories at No. 3 doubles, winning 8-3 against Upper Iowa's Morgan Winnie and Laura Alvarez and 8-3 over Bemidji State's Abby Vohaska and Anna Markgraf. With those twin triumphs, Rademacher and Cunningham upped their 2014 doubles record to 4-2.
UMD, 0-6 overall on the season, won't return to the court until March 1 when it faces both the University of Sioux Falls and Winona State University in Winona, Minn.
