Back on the court for the first time in four weeks, the University of Minnesota Duluth claimed victories in five of six single events en route to defeating Southwest Minnesota State University, 5-4, Saturday night in Minnetonka, Minn., for its first win of the 2014 season.

The Bulldogs (1-8 overall and 1-7 in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference), trailed 3-0 at the conclusion of the doubles competition before getting singles wins from freshman Drew DeCorsey at No. 2, sophomore Bailey Kolles at No. 3, freshman Kaitlin Wohnoutka at No. 4, freshman Briana Rademacher at No. 5 and sophomore Delaney Dobbs at No. 6. Both Kolles' and Wohnoutka's matches needed a third-set tiebreaker. Dobbs pushed her 2014 singles record to a team-best 5-3 while Rademacher is 4-5.

Southwest State University fell to 3-12 overall and 1-6 in the NSIC.

UMD will remain on the road next Saturday to face NSIC rival Minnesota State University-Mankato in St. Peter, Minn.
