In its lone match of the weekend, the University of Minnesota Duluth suffered a 6-3 setback at the hands of Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference rival Minnesota State University-Mankato Saturday afternoon in St. Peter, Minn. The loss dropped the Bulldogs to 1-9 overall and 1-8 in the NSIC with one week to go in their 2014 season.

The Mavericks (4-16; 3-7) commenced the match by winning two of the three doubles events with the lone UMD victory coming from senior Kelsey Cunningham and freshman Briana Rademacher, who won 8-2 over MSU's Abby Schmidt and Danni Barr. Sophomore Delaney Dobbs bested Barr in straight sets in No. 6 singles to improve her 2014 record to 6-3 while rookie Kaitlin Wohnoutka prevailed in a two-set victory over Alexis Ronney at No. 4 to account for the other Bulldog triumph.

UMD will take on St. Cloud State University next Saturday (April 12) and Augustana College the following morning in its 2014 finales in Sioux Falls, S.D.
