Another weekend in the books, another pair of victories for the University of Minnesota Duluth following a sweep of Minnesota State University, Moorhead. UMD capped off its fourth sweep in as many games and moves to 19-0 overall and 11-0 in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference play.

The Bulldogs remain atop the NSIC standings, trailed by a pair of teams with just one conference loss. UMD is just six wins away from its best start to a season in program history - the 2011 Bulldogs opened their season with 25 consecutive wins.

UMD was firing on all cylinders on Saturday evening at Romano Gymnasium, hitting a season-best .500 on the match while holding the Dragons to just a .155 attack percentage. Three Bulldogs amassed double digit kills, senior outside hitter Taylor Wissbroecker (15), sophomore outside hitter Makenzie Morgen (12), and sophomore right side hitter Sarah Kelly (11). Defensively, UMD's 39 digs were spread around, with sophomore libero Erin Schindler, Wissbroecker, and freshman setter Emily Torve doing the bulk of the work. Every player on the Bulldog roster was called into action in the match, with freshman outside hitter Hanna Meyer picking up her first collegiate kill.

After a 6-6 tie in the opening frame, UMD pulled away by running off nine of the next twelve points. MSU Moorhead would not get within five points the remainder of the set, concluding with a 25-17 Bulldog victory. UMD put out its most dominant performance of the evening in the following set, hitting an impressive .560 as a team while holding the Dragons to an even .000 attack percentage (six attacks, six errors). The Bulldogs jumped out quickly to a 14-2 lead and did not slow down. A kill by junior middle blocker Allison Olley capped off the set to put UMD up 2-0 on the match. Following a brief intermission, the Bulldogs went right back to work to take the third and final set by a score of 25-16. UMD did not allow the Dragons to capture a lead at any point throughout the match.

The Bulldogs will look to carry on their winning streak on Tuesday night as they play host the St. Cloud State University. Opening serve is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Romano Gym.
