Blake Anderson established a meet record in the 10,000-meter run and was one of nine Bulldogs who produced a top 10 individual finish at Saturday's Holst Invitational. The event drew an all-time high 35 teams and over 1,000 athletes to Concordia University-St. Paul's Sea Foam Stadium on day in which temperatures reached the mid-70s.
Anderson posted a time of 33:07.67 while teammate and fellow sophomore
Cody Sedbrook took runnerup honors (33:19.92) while freshman
Nick Lawson was fourth (33:56.77). In the 5,000-meter run, a pair of freshmen --
Isaac Overmyer (15:51.18) and
Luke Lahr (16:27.13) placed second and sixth, respectively. Senior
Kern Wilson was fourth in the hammer throw (174'-04"), freshman
Andrew Lind was eighth in the high jump (6'-00.00") and both freshman pole vaulter
Chris Timm (14'-01.25") and senior long jumper
Mark Emlaw (21'-10.75'') each came away with 10th place efforts in their events.
The Bulldogs will be in Fargo, N.D., next Friday and Saturday for North Dakota State University's Lyle Hokanson Invitational.
