Both junior
Breanna Colbenson and senior
Hannah Olson claimed two individual titles at the two-day Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships, which concluded this afternoon at Howard Wood Field in Sioux Falls, S.D.
The Bulldogs finished sixth among 14 schools with 57.33 points while Minnesota State University-Mankato was first with 152.33 points.
Colbenson won the 10,000-meter run race on Friday, coming in at 35:24.55 and then duplicated that feat Saturday in the 3,000-meter steeplechase run with a 10:29.78 finish. Olson, who like her indoor All-American counterpart Colbenson had never won an NSIC outdoor event prior to this weekend, reigned in the 1,500-meter (4:29.54) and 5,000-meter runs (16:58.08). Other point getters for the Bulldogs included freshman
Danielle Kohlwey, who placed third in the 100-meter hurdles -- and did so in a school-record and NCAA Division II provisional qualifying time of 13.78 -- and was also eighth in the 400-meter hurdles (1:09.49), sophomore
Rachelle LeBlanc in the pole vault (8th place; 3.23 meters) and sophomore
Erica Kesseh in the 100-meter dash (8th place; 12.19). In addition, senior
Chanel Miller, who 12 days ago took third in the NSIC outdoor heptathlon competition, finished sixth in Saturday's 100-meter hurdle finals (14.27) in her final conference meet.
