The University of Minnesota Duluth took third at Saturday's Ron Pynn Classic -- an eight-team event that featured a trio of NCAA Division I schools -- in Grand Forks, N.D.
North Dakota State University captured the team title with 23 points while host University of North Dakota (40 pts.), UMD (82 pts.) and Concordia College-Moorhead (125 pts.) were next.

Lizzie Schlafke was UMD's top placer (and the top non-NCAA I or unattached finisher) completing the 75-runner, 5,000-meter race in 19:03.09 -- good for 14th overall. Sophomore
Gabriella Brinkley (19:11.9) was two spots behind while freshmen
Morgan Radel (19:17.1) and
Alexandra Robran (19:19.2) placed 21st and 23rd, respectively. Junior
Elizabeth Kyes (24th place; 19:24.7) and senior
Megan Stuart (29th; 19:40.0) rounded out the top seven UMD finishers.
The Bulldogs will pay a visit to Sauk Rapids, Minn., this Friday (Oct. 19) for the St. Cloud State University Bob Waxlax Invitational.
