In its final appearance of the 2018 season, the University of Minnesota Duluth placed seventh out of 35 teams at the NCAA Division II Central Region Championships Saturday in Joplin, Mo.
The University of Mary (29 points) and Augustana University (64 pts.) of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference finished 1-2 in the team competition while Oklahoma Baptist University (122 pts.), Southwest Baptist University (176 pts.), host Missouri Southern State University (258 pts.), UMD (268 pts.) and Fort Hays State University (292 pts.) were next.
Leading the way individually for the Bulldogs in the 237-runner were freshmen
Morgan Radel (45th place; 22:52.8) and
Alexandra Robran (47th place; 22:55.5). They were followed by sophomore
Gabriella Brinkley (53rd place; 23:00.0), junior
Lizzie Schlafke (57th place; 23:03.7) and
Megan Stuart (66th place; 23:08.6), UMD's lone senior, sophomore
Lexie Chambers (73rd place; 23:15.7), and junior
Elizabeth Kyes (106th place; 23:52.
