After capturing team titles in its first two meets of the 2018 season, the University of Minnesota Duluth posted a sixth-place finish at the 25-school Blugold Invitational Friday afternoon in Colfax, Wis.
For the first time in her collegiate career, junior
Elizabeth Kyes was the Bulldogs' highest finisher as she came in 19th out of 335 runners with a 6,000-meter time of 22:52.8. at the Whitetail Golf Course. Freshmen
Morgan Radel (26th place; 23:05.5) and
Alexandra Robran (33rd; 23:16.7) were next followed by junior
Lizzie Schlafke (37th; 23.16.7), freshman
Mason Kalander (56th; 23:42.7), senior
Megan Stuart (71st; 23:54.8) and sophomore
Gabriella Brinkley (75th; 23:57.4)
Host University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire was the champion with 80 points, edging out Carleton College (82 pts.). The Bulldogs compiled a team score of 168 points.
Next up for UMD is the University of North Dakota's Ron Pynn Classic on Oct. 13.
