BULLDOGS POST WINS OVER GUSTAVUS ADOLPHUS AND SOUTHWEST MINNESOTA STATE IN SATURDAY DOUBLEHEADER

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 The University of Minnesota Duluth posted a pair of wins in a Saturday doubleheader in St. Peter, Minn., following up a 5-2 non-conference triumph over host Gustavus Adolphus College by taking down Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference rival Southwest Minnesota State University 4-3 later in the day.

The Bulldogs are now 7-1 overall and 4-1 in NSIC play.

Sophomore Natalie Cahill hiked her perfect 2019 singles record to 8-0 by winning twice -- both in straight sets --  at No. 3 while freshmen Sophie Lynch (No. 4) and Ally Tiedemann (No.5) and sophomore Isabel Thiner (No.6)  also went 2-0 in singles play. UMD lost the doubles point in both matches as only Thiner and Tiedemann (No. 3 against Southwest Minnesota State) and junior co-captains Megan Anderson and Elsa Erickson (No. 1 vs. Gustavus Adolphus) delivered victories on the day.  Anderson defeated the Gusties' Ani Bailey in No. 1 singles as well.

UMD's NSIC match with Minnesota State University-Mankato, originally scheduled for Sunday morning, was postponed due to extreme winter weather.
