The University of Minnesota Duluth lost twice to Northern State University in a Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference twinbill at Wade Stadium on Tuesday afternoon. The Wolves won 6-0 in the first game and 13-8 in game two as the Bulldogs fell to 8-26 overall and 6-17 in the NSIC.

The Bulldogs couldn't solve starting pitcher Luke Chevalier in game one. Chevalier and the Wolves delivered UMD its first shutout of the season as the Bulldogs collected three hits and a walk on Chevalier, who went the distance. Sophomore outfielder
Henry George tallied two of the three UMD hits. Northern State built a 4-0 lead after the third inning and added one in the sixth and the seventh.
The finale featured both clubs scratching runs in the first inning. The Bulldogs tagged starting pitcher Zach Hrvol for three runs in the fourth inning. Senior outfielder

Anders Brown on a single. George and Brown executed a double steal to get into scoring position for Stewart's knock. Freshman shortstop
McCale Peterson finished the damage in the fourth with a sacrifice fly.

Wyatt O'Bey pitched five strong innings for the Bulldogs giving up two runs on three hits and three walks. O'Bey gave way to the bullpen who couldn't hold the lead. Northern State put up a seven-spot in the sixth inning to grab the lead. UMD fought back with four runs in the seventh. Freshman third baseman
Gage Merhar blasted a leadoff homer to start the bottom of the frame. George returned to dish for his second hit – a double that scored sophomore
Kaylan Legred who reached on an error. Stewart filed out for another sacrifice fly (his third RBI of the game) and freshman designated player
Tosten Mann cut to NSU lead to 9-8 after his RBI double. Stewart, Mann, and Brown each posted three hits in game two as the Bulldogs compiled 15 hits. The Wolves squashed the comeback rally as they scored four runs of their own the following half inning.

UMD will resume action this weekend with a four-game series with the University of Mary at home. The Bulldogs and the Marauders will kick off its series on Friday (April 19) with a pair of NSIC contests starting at 1:30 p.m. at Wade Stadium.
