The University of Minnesota Duluth made its 2020 Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference home opener a successful one by taking down Minnesota State University-Mankato 6-1 Saturday afternoon at the Duluth Indoor Tennis Center.
After taking two of the three doubles matches to pick up one point, UMD went 5-1 in singles, getting straight set victories from sophomore

Sophie Lynch (No. 3), freshmen
Emily Rahrik (No. 4) and
Mallory Lithun (No. 5) and junior
Isabel Thiner (No. 6).

Megan Anderson, who lost a tough No. 1 singles match in a tiebreaker, and Thiner (No. 2) and senior

Sarah Will (No. 3), prevailed in doubles.
The Bulldogs will host NSIC rival Southwest Minnesota State University on Sunday at 1 p.m. in their last home appearance until April 3.
