The University of Minnesota Duluth placed seventh in the final team standings at the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships, which wrapped up today on the Minnesota State University-Mankato campus.
Host Minnesota State-Mankato captured its ninth consecutive NSIC team title with 213.5 points and was followed in the 12-school competition by Augustana University (120.5 pts,), Minnesota State University-Moorhead (80 pts.), Northern State University (71.5 pts.), the University of Mary (66.5 pts.), the University of Sioux Falls (55 pts.), UMD (47 pts.), and Concordia University-St.Paul (45 pts.).Â
UMD produced an All-NSIC performer in junior
Christian Leonard, who placed third in the mile run with a time of 4:18.57. Leonard also took fourth in the 800-meter run (1:57.65). Other UMD point producers included sophomore
Jonathan Tostenson in the 1,000-meter run (fifth place; 2:30.95), in the mile run (seventh place; 4:20.80), senior
Dan Clark in the pole vault (fifth place; 14'-09.00"), sophomore
Zach Skelton in the weight throw (fifth place; 58'-07.25", which is an NCAA Divison II provisional qualiftying mark) and the shot put (sixth place; 49'-04.50"), junior
Noah Torvik in the 600-meter run (sixth place; 1:23.40), sophomore
Cole Fechner in the 800-meter run (sixth place; 1:58.58), junior
Cole Lebourgeois in the 1,000-meter run (sixth place; 2:31.07), freshman
Caden Dupee in the heptathlon (sixth place; 4669.00 pts.), junior
Austin Have in the 600-meter run (seventh place; 1:23.83), sophomore
