Duluth, Minn. – The UMD Bulldogs hosted the Northland College Lumberjacks on Tuesday night. The Bulldogs controlled the entire game and would go on to break a school record for largest margin of victory as they would win 123-48.
The Bulldogs started the game by jumping out to an early 11-4 lead. The Lumberjacks kept it competitive in the early stages of the game as they would fight to a 16-14 deficit. This would be the closest they would be the rest of the game as the Bulldogs took control for the rest of the game. The Bulldogs went on a 13-0 run to extend their lead and take an 32-18 lead. From there, the Bulldogs continued to dominate as three players would score in double figures in the first half as they went into the break with an 59-28 advantage.
Drew Blair led the way with 14 points.
Jack Middleton and
Lincoln Meister both added 11 points each in the first half. Overall, the Bulldogs shot 22-34 from the field (64.7%) and 9-18 from three-point range (50%). The Lumberjacks struggled from the field as they would shoot 13-34 (38%) from the field and 2-13 from three-point range (15%).
The second half saw the Bulldogs offense stay hot. They would open the second half with a 12-0 run to make the score 78-31. From there, the Bulldogs continued to dominate as they got all their available players in the game. The Lumberjacks could not figure it out from the field as they continued to struggle on both ends of the floor. The Bulldogs went to go on to score 64 points in the second half while shooting 25-35 from the field (71.4%) and 7-14 from three-point range (50%). The Lumberjacks went on to score only 20 points in the second half as they shot 8-36 from the floor (22.2%) and 3-14 from three-point range (21.4%).

Drew Blair and sophomore
Lincoln Meister who both had 18 points on the night. Sophomore
Charlie Katona added 17 points while junior
Jack Middleton added 14 points. Sophomores
Joshua Brown and
Austin Andrews also both added 13 and 12 points respectively.
Charlie Katona led the team with 9 rebounds while graduate transfer
Jacob Shields added 7 rebounds. Freshman
Joshua Strong led the team with 7 assists on the night. Overall, the Bulldogs shot 47-69 (68.1%) from the field and 16-32 (50%) from three-point range. They also shot 13-18 from the free throw line (72.2%).
The Lumberjacks were led by Jordan Brennan and George Butvilas who both added 12 points each. Simon Palmer added 5 rebounds while Jordan Brennan added 2 assists to lead the team. Overall Northland shot 21-70 (22.2%) from the field and shot 5-27 (18.5%) from three-point range. They also shot 1-3 (33.3%) from the free throw line.

The Bulldogs will travel to face off against Concordia St. Paul on Friday November 19
th at 7:00 PM. They will then be back home next Tuesday, November 23 as they host St. Cloud State for their NSIC season opener.
