The University of Minnesota Duluth men's hockey team had one of its players named to the National Collegiate Hockey Conference's All-Rookie team this morning on Mar. 8, 2021. Freshman defenseman
Wyatt Kaiser was one of the six first year NCHC players that was named to the team.
In his first season, Kaiser showed that he was ready to play in one of the top leagues that the NCAA has to offer. In his first year with the Bulldogs, Kaiser played in every game (24). He was able to muster up nine assists on the season (six coming on the man advantage), take 44 shots, finish the year with a +2 +/- rating and block 30 shots (second among freshman in the NCHC).
Kaiser nabbed an NCHC Rookie of the Week award on Feb. 2 of this season.
UMD heads to Grand Forks for the NCHC Frozen Faceoff this weekend to take on Western Michigan in the first round on Saturday, Mar. 13.
