Left-handed pitching recruit Riley Funk has signed a National Letter of Intent and will join the Bulldogs for the 2022 season, UMD Baseball head coach
Bob Rients announced on Monday.
Funk, a native of Chanhassen, Minn., joins the Bulldogs after an impressive career at Chanhassen H.S. As a dual sport athlete in high school, Funk lettered all four years with the baseball team while also earning All-Conference honors with the football team. On the mound, Funk started two years for the Storm, while notching Academic All-State honors in the process. On the football field, Funk served as a team captain and helped his team to a Sectional Championship.
The 6-0, 185-pound pitcher is the son of Mike and Julie Funk… Plans on majoring in Business while at UMD… Enjoys water sports, fishing, and hunting in his free time.
