The University of Minnesota Duluth men's track team put on a show at the Twin Ports Invite on Saturday in Superior, Wis. The Bulldogs posted an impressive eleven first-place finishes during the event hosted by UW-Superior.
"Today was about competing to win and hopefully taking a step in a positive direction towards our outcomes and goals this season," said Head Coach

We'll start in the field where
Avery Hunt and
Colton Kostynick would each note multiple first-place finishes. In the long jump, Hunt's distance of 6.41m earned himself the top spot, while his distance of 13.35m in the triple jump was also good enough for first-place. Kostynick earned top mark in the shot put with a distance of 15.63m, while also garnering first-place in the weight throw with a mark of 15.73m.
Luke Oberleitner also chipped in a first-place finish after he tallied a height of 1.85m in the high jump.
On the track, freshman
Nicholas Westphal got the party started with a first-place time of 7.18 in the men's 60 meter dash.
Alex Kulzer's mark of 26.38 was good enough for top spot in the 200 meter hurdles, while freshman
Alexander Croston garnered first-place honors in the 400 meter run with a time of 52.61. The Bulldogs would go first and second in the 1 mile run thanks to
Nick Jacobson and
Matthew Trutna, who tallied times of 4:18.93 and 4:19.44, respectfully.

The Bulldogs will head south next weekend for a showdown at the University of Minnesota. UMD will be in action on both Friday and Saturday in Minneapolis, Minn.
