NO. 7 MEN'S BASKETBALL EARNS BIG HOME WIN ON SENIOR DAY, REMAIN UNDEFEATED AT HOME

Duluth, Minn. – The No. 7 Minnesota Duluth Bulldogs hosted the Northern State Wolves on Saturday afternoon. The Bulldogs used big nights from Austin Andrews, Drew Blair and Joshua Brown to propel them to a 88-75 win. The Bulldogs improve to 21-2 (14-2) on the season. They also remain undefeated at home.
 
Joshua Brown started the game for the Bulldogs with a three-pointer out of the gates. The Bulldogs started hot on offense as they Jumped out to a quick 11-4 lead. From there, the Bulldogs continued their hot start as they went on a 11-5 run to take a 22-9 lead with 11:17 remaining in the game. The Wolves managed to respond to the Bulldogs hot start as they began to chip away at the Bulldogs lead and got it to within one point as the Bulldogs led 24-23 with 6:11 remaining. The Bulldogs went on another run to extend their lead as they built their lead up to 36-25, thanks to another Joshua Brown three-pointer. The Bulldogs continued their hot shooting for the remainder of the half as they managed to maintain their double-digit lead down the stretch. Joshua Brown capped off a strong first half with a layup at the buzzer to give the Bulldogs a 46-32 first half lead. A trio of Bulldogs had double-digit points in the first half, led by Drew Blair and Joshua Brown with 15 points each. Austin Andrews also added 12 points. The Bulldogs shot lights out in the first half as they shot 20-31 (64.5%) from the field and 6-12 (50%) from three-point range. The Wolves shot 12-28 (42.9%) from the field and 4-13 (30.8%) from three-point range in the first half.
 
The Bulldogs continued their hot shooting in the second half as Jack Middleton started off the scoring for the Bulldogs with a three-pointer. From there, both teams were hitting their shots as teams traded baskets to begin the second half. The Bulldogs took a 53-45 lead at the fist media timeout with 14:46 remaining in the half. From there, teams continued to trade baskets as the Bulldogs couldn't extend their lead over the Wolves. Joshua Strong hit back-to-back baskets, including a three-pointer to extend the Bulldogs lead to 15 points as they led 67-52 with 11:15 remaining in the half. The second half was a physical battle as both teams were in the bonus with over 10 minutes remaining in the game. Teams continued to battle throughout the Bulldogs could not extend their lead. The Wolves managed to chip into the Bulldog lead, thanks to the foul situation. Austin Andrews responded with back-to-back layups to give the Bulldogs a 76-67 lead with 4:22 remaining in the half. Andrews added another basket, an alley-oop from Charlie Katona, to once again extend the Bulldogs lead down the stretch. Andrews capped off a strong second half with a fast break dunk as the Bulldogs exclamation point to their win. The Bulldogs closed out the Wolves as they won 88-75. The Bulldogs shot 13-26 (50%) from the field and 3-7 (42.86%) from three-point range in the second half. The Wolves shot 13-29 (44.8%) from the field and 3-9 (33.3%) from three-point range in the second half.
 
The Bulldogs were led by Austin Andrews who had 23 points. Joshua Brown added 20 points while Drew Blair added 19 on the night. Austin Andrews added 13 rebounds for another double double. Jack Middleton led the team with 4 assists. Andrews also added 2 blocks and 3 steals on the night. Overall, the Bulldogs shot 33-57 (57.9%) from the field and 9-19 (47.4%) from three-point range. They also shot 13-20 from the foul line.
 
The Wolves were led by Augustin Reede and Sam Masten who had 16 points on the night. Jordan Belka added 8 rebounds to lead the Wolves. Overall, they shot 25-57 (43.9%) from the field and 7-22 (31.8%) from three-point range. They also shot 18-22 from the foul line.
