Boston, MA - Former Minnesota Duluth men's hockey defenseman Nick Wolff has inked a one-year, two-way contract extension with the Boston Bruins, the club announced on Tuesday afternoon. Wolff's contract carries a $750,000 cap hit at the NHL level.
Wolff, 25, notched eight points (0G-8A) in 32 games last season with the Providence Bruins of the American Hockey League. Additionally, Wolff tallied one goal in two playoff games for Providence during the 2021-22 AHL playoffs. To date, the Eagan, Minnesota native has suited up in 58 professional games for Providence and registered 11 points (1G-10A).
The 6-foot-5, 229-pound defenseman dressed in 156 games for the Bulldogs from 2016-2020, while securing 14 goals and 39 assists for 53 points. Wolff helped Minnesota Duluth to back-to-back national championships in 2018 and 2019. After being named an assistant captain during his junior season in 2018-19, Wolff served as team captain during his senior season in 2019-2020.
Following his career in Duluth, Wolff signed with the Bruins on March 18, 2020 as an undrafted free agent.
