BULLDOGS SWEPT BY THE MAVERICKS IN CONFERENCE MATCH

Box Score The University of Minnesota Duluth Bulldogs faced off against the Minnesota State University Mavericks in a NSIC conference match where UMD unfortunately was unable to secure a victory, with the final score being 7-0 in favor of the Mavericks.
The Bulldogs got off to another rough start, losing all of the doubles matches, which gave the Mavericks the doubles point and an early advantage heading into the singles matches. While the Bulldogs fought hard in the singles matches, they were unable to secure a victory.
Though the 0-7 defeat, there was still something to be told from this match and the Bulldogs' performance. At the No. 3 doubles position, Brynne Folden and Olivia Honsey played some great tennis on Saturday and should be proud of the way that they played. Folden had this to say after the match, "I had so much fun this weekend playing doubles with Olivia. She is so positive and such a hard worker. Although the scores weren't in our favor, I can tell that my team works hard, and we want to push each other to be the best we possibly can be. There is no other team that I would rather be a part of."
After the two-match weekend, the Bulldogs' record falls to 8-5, with an NSIC conference record of 5-4.
The Minnesota Duluth women's tennis team will be in Sioux Falls, SD for a match against the University of Sioux Falls on April 15, 2023, at the Huether Family Match Pointe.
