BULLDOGS PREPARE FOR MATCH AGAINST AUGUSTANA IN NSIC TOURNAMENT

The University of Minnesota Duluth Bulldogs are gearing up as the No. 8 seed to play the No. 1 seed Augustana University in the first round of the NSIC Tournament. On April 21, 2023, at 2 p.m., at the Huether Family Match Pointe, these two teams will battle it out to see who will move on to the next round of the tournament.
A LOOK BACK
The Bulldogs have their work cut out for them, as they haven't been able to secure a victory against Augustana yet. Just last weekend Augustana beat UMD 7-0 in a tough match. This will be the fifth time that the Bulldogs have made the NSIC tournament, but they haven't been able to get past the first round yet. However, this quarter final matchup is a new opportunity for Minnesota Duluth to turn the tide and show that they can compete with the best in the conference and get past the hurdle of the quarterfinals.
SCOUTING THE VIKINGS
After their win against the Bulldogs last weekend, Augustana has now recorded 151 consecutive conference wins, dating back to 2009. The Vikings possess an impressive lineup with highly skilled players, with six of their seven singles players earning over 11 match victories this season. Spearheading this team into who they are is Florentia Hadjigeorgoiu, who holds an exceptional 14-3 record at their No. 1 singles position. Another player to look out for is the Vikings' No. 2 singles player, Senem Ocal, who holds a fantastic 13-3 record.
FINAL NOTES
This will be a tough battle for the Bulldogs, but they have proven themselves to be a resilient team, and with determination and hard work, they can come out on top.
