UMD will be looking to build upon what was a standout 2022 campaign, one that saw the Bulldogs finish 27-5 and tied for second in the NSIC with a 17-3 conference mark. Once the squad entered the top ten of the AVCA poll in week three, it stayed there the rest of the season, peaking at No. 4. This resume earned UMD a ticket to the NCAA Tournament, where it defeated six-seeded Washburn 3-1 in the Central Region Quarterfinal before falling to CSP 3-1 in the regional semis.Â
Aside from graduates
Sydney Lanoue and
Grace Post, the Bulldogs will return the entirety of their 2022 roster, including five members of last year's All-NSIC Teams.
Samantha Paulsen,
Cianna Selbitschka and
Grace Daak all landed First Team honors, while
Madison Gordon and
Hope Schjenken made it on the Second Team. It's a Bulldog group that found itself ranked No. 7 in the final AVCA poll last year, placing it ahead of five of the final six teams of the NCAA Tournament field.Â
